Pharmaceutical sector

Asys designed and implemented a highly innovative solution for dispensing monodose medicines in hospital wards for a company operating in the health services sector.

The system comprised a fully automated dispensing cupboard located in the hospital network in charge of managing treatment and dispensing pharmaceuticals.
Several thousand monodose packets were kept in the dispensing cupboard/store room along with a 4-axis controller fitted with a specially designed collector, which manages the intake and storage of the pharmaceuticals, the expiry dates, the waste products and the restocking levels.

The management application receives the medical prescriptions via the network, the controller then prepares the prescriptions and deposits the medicines directly in the trolley drawers.

Interacting directly with the medical staff or paramedics, the dispensing cupboard leaves the trolley ready for distribution to the patients and is therefore capable of fulfilling individual pharmaceutical requests.
